Themed tours
Hardly any other lake offers as much history and stories as Lake Starnberg. Do historical themes always sound a bit dusty? Not at all. Mysterious guided walks lead along the shores of Lake Starnberg and present very entertaining anecdotes about the Bavarian King Ludwig II, his grand cousin, the Bavarian Duchess Sisi, later Empress Elisabeth and many other celebrities around the lake. Lake Starnberg is not just beaches and sailing boats, there are little treasures hidden everywhere that bear witness to the splendor and glory of times gone by. You just have to look closely.

Windsurfing and sailing on Lake Starnberg
The Starnberger surf school in Münsing offers surfing and sailing courses for children, teenagers and adults. The water sports center is open from 1 April to 31 October from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00.

Experience an incomparable adrenaline rush. Conquer the wild passages of the Isar in an inflatable boat. Near Lake Starnberg you can experience a real adventure with a group of 6 people. You have a choice of several levels of difficulty, allowing you to choose the ideal route for your ability and thirst for adventure.

Cycling tours
If you like to let your thoughts run free while cycling during your short vacation at the lake, the Starnberger See region is the place to be. Bring your own bike or rent one from the sports stores in the area. We have roughly described a possible tour for you here:

Cycle route along the eastern shore of Lake Starnberg
This round trip leads from Starnberg station along the shore of the lake. It passes the open-air swimming pool and continues to Kempfenhausen and Berg. After some time you will reach the memorial cross. This marks the place where the fairy-tale king Ludwig II drowned together with his doctor. Further on you will reach the Bismarck Tower and follow the signs further to Mathal. From here, the trail leads along the lake back to the starting point.
Length of the route: approx. 20 km.
Start/finish: Starnberg train station
Trail surface: tar, little gravel

We are happy to provide you with e-bikes or trekking bikes for your bike tour on Lake Starnberg. However, advance reservation is required due to limited number. The cost is 40 euros per day for an e-bike and 28 euros per day for a trekking bike.
